The fabric
Lightweight linen with lycra running through it. The stretch is what stops the creasing that usually puts people off linen, and on an open jacket that matters more than anywhere else, because the front panels hang in full view all day.
A deep colour like this also asks more of a fabric. The matte linen finish keeps the teal looking rich rather than shiny, which is what separates it from a synthetic.
Fit and modesty
Cut full length and open at the front, relaxed through the body and shoulder so nothing pulls. Wide sleeves with room at the arm.
The tie belt adjusts the shape. Left loose, the jacket falls in a straight line. Drawn in, it marks the waist without tightening the fit across the chest or hip.
When to wear it
Work, errands, travelling, meeting friends and family gatherings. Light enough to keep on indoors, and it layers under a coat once the weather turns.
With the belt tied and silver jewellery it holds up at a dinner or an evening invitation.

Over the matching Fayrouz abaya for a tonal look, one colour from shoulder to hem. On anything else, keep it simple underneath and let the colour lead. Cream, sand and camel are the easiest, black is the sharpest, and white lifts it for daytime. A neutral hijab works better than a matching one here. Silver jewellery suits teal better than gold. Over jeans and a long top it becomes an everyday layer rather than occasionwear.

Love the generous fit but want more shape? Use the belt or tie at your natural waist, just under the bust for an empire line, or at the hips for a dropped-waist look.

Between heights? If you are between two heights, for example 5'5", you can choose either the 54" or 56" length depending on how much coverage you prefer.
While all our garments feature a 44" chest and 21 inch sleeve length, it helps to know your measurements for styling decisions:
- Bust: measure around the fullest part. Under 44" gives you lovely draping room
- Waist: measure your natural waist to know where to position belts and ties
- Height: measure from floor to top of head to select your perfect length

Will the generous fit change after washing?
Our Modal and Jersey fabrics hold their shape and generous sizing when washed according to care instructions. Silk pieces should be dry cleaned to preserve the drape and fit.
